Veteran Destination Marketing CEO David Downing Joins ULA in New Role
TAMPA BAY, FL (April 3, 2019) — Tampa Bay based United Landmark Associates (ULA) today announced David Downing as the organization’s newly-appointed President of Brand.
Downing will helm a new division of the legacy agency that will oversee brand strategy and development, with a focus on the integration of destination promotion.

Honored earlier this year by the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association (HSMAI) as one ofthe Top 25 Extraordinary Minds in Hospitality Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Optimization, Downing has been on the boards of various professional organizations, including the US Travel Association, Visit Florida and others.
He joins ULA after a 12–year tenure at Visit St. Pete Clearwater, the official Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) of Pinellas County (FL), including the last five as company President and CEO. During that tenure tourism tax revenue grew by 70% to some $60 million in FY18, equaling a record $1 billion in annual hotel room sales, a first for any destination on Florida’s Gulf coast.

For more than 30 years, United Landmark Associates earned national recognition in luxury brand-marketing, including creative strategies, media, digital marketing and messaging for leaders in the real estate, marine, banking, hospitality and other industries.
The agency’s more than 200 clients include luxury developer Kolter Urban, Ritz Carlton Residences, Mercedes Benz, NetJets, Mercury Advisors, Collier Enterprises, Galati Yachts, Intrepid Powerboats, HMY Yachts and Latitude Margaritaville lifestyle developments. The agency has current clients in Tampa Bay, Palm Beach, Miami, Philadelphia and Austin, Texas.
