Marketing Intern

DESCRIPTION
United Landmark Associates offers an exciting internship program designed to equip participants with the practical skills and industry knowledge necessary for success in the marketing and advertising field. Through hands-on experience and exposure to various disciplines, interns will gain invaluable insights into agency operations and client servicing.

Responsibilities:

 

Account Service:

  • Learn about clients and competitors through immersion in client websites, server files, and brand strategy decks.
  • Assist in conducting competitor research to inform strategic decisions.
  • Prepare for and participate in client meetings, gaining exposure to client interactions and account management.
  • Draft comprehensive conference reports and weekly status updates to track project progress.
  • Utilize Advantage software for job management tasks such as opening jobs, sending assignments, and updating project schedules.
  • Review and contribute to annual budget spreadsheets, understanding the financial aspect of client management.

 

Copywriting:

  • Assist in crafting organic social media content, including hashtag research for platforms like Instagram.
  • Conduct keyword research using agency tools to optimize blog post content.
  • Draft engaging blog posts, adhering to best practices and storytelling principles.
  • Collaborate in proofreading copy for various mediums including ads, blogs, social media, direct mail, and signage.

 

Digital:

  • Gain familiarity with weekly and monthly digital reporting and analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Paid Social platforms.
  • Learn to interpret digital reporting data to inform marketing strategies.
  • Contribute to drafting organic social briefs and paid campaign copy to hone creative and strategic skills.
  • Review and understand the backend processes of paid search, social, and programmatic campaigns.

 

Creative/Production:

  • Assist in organizing and reviewing collateral materials.
  • Engage with the design director to understand the process of brand development, including theme boards, logo design, and brand tenets.
  • Participate in drafting concept and production estimates to understand project costing.

 

Media:

  • Observe and participate in calls with media representatives, gaining insights into media planning and buying.
  • Assist in drafting media authorizations based on media schedules and kits.
  • Review and analyze media plans and budgets to understand media strategy.

 

Accounting:

  • Support in the closure of jobs and compilation of job billing reports, gaining exposure to financial aspects of project management.

 

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate or graduate program, preferably in marketing, advertising, communications, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with digital marketing tools is a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
